Gartner Magic Quadrant Report for Endpoint Protection Platforms

As you may know, Gartner released its Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms this week, and we are honored to be included along with 23 other leading endpoint security vendors. We’re thrilled to be highlighted in the Honorable Mentions section with three other successful, forward-looking companies. We applaud Gartner for recognizing the strength of our product offering and are delighted to be placed among a group of such notable, innovative and cutting-edge companies. That feels like the biggest vote of confidence we could ask for! And it comes in addition to other votes of confidence, like the incredible feedback from our customers on Gartner Peer Reviews. And, in addition to being a recommended vendor in the NSS Lab’s 2018 and 2019 Advanced Endpoint Protection report as well as the Gartner EDR Market Guide for two consecutive years, we’ve racked up some cool awards and product reviews over the years.

As Gartner noted, “the endpoint protection market is transforming as new approaches challenge the status quo.” The report recognized that the real-time, automated enSilo Endpoint Security Platform provides both EPP and EDR in a single, lightweight agent and called our patented technologies around code-tracing exfiltration detection and ransomware prevention as “stand-out features.”

The report goes on to say that “enSilo features automated EDR response and vulnerability patching capabilities including virtual patching for latest threats. The vendor has automated incident response playbooks with actions that function across multiple types of endpoints and operating systems. enSilo provides full support for Windows Linux and OSX and has comprehensive support for down-level and legacy OS versions. enSilo is developing solutions for containers and serverless workloads. The platform can be deployed either in the cloud or on-premises. Protection and detection operate on the endpoint, not in the cloud, which makes it a good choice for disconnected endpoints.”

We recently unveiled Version 4.0 of the enSilo Endpoint Security Platform, which provides two critical capabilities that proactively and automatically reduce the attack surface. The first is the automatic reduction of the attack surface using CVE and application rating data to visualize risk and design policy-based actions within our Communication Control feature. This enhancement helps security and operations teams quickly prioritize which applications with critical vulnerabilities or low ratings are in use, determine impacted endpoints, and assess the risk. In one-click, users can reduce the attack surface with pre-built policies based on severity using the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) and application rating enrichment that block communications by potentially unwanted or vulnerable applications and accelerate remediation processes.

The second is the automatic discovery, classification, and assessment of IoT devices to determine if they are running vulnerable applications with known CVEs. This data is also visualized in our Communication Control feature with policy actions that enable security and operations teams to restrict IoT device communications through integrations with security gateways. By automatically eliminating the threat posed by an expanding number IoT devices potentially running software with critical vulnerabilities, security and operations teams can protect endpoints and the business from attacks launched via compromised IoT devices and accelerate remediation efforts.

enSilo’s new discovery and vulnerability assessment and mitigation capabilities add a critical layer of network security protection to our customers’ already existing real-time pre- and post-execution protection, which includes:

  • Real-time prevention featuring kernel-based next-generation AV for automated prevention of ransomware encryption. enSilo incorporates machine learning so it becomes smarter over time and feeds from a continuously updated cloud-based threat intelligence feed. Real-time prevention is pre-infection, and just good sense when it comes to security hygiene.
  • Real-time detection and containment featuring automated EDR with post-infection detection and blocking for surgical containment of threats.
  • Real-time orchestrated incident response with automated event classification, automated remediation and automated investigation without interrupting the user.
